Giving With Purpose

For me, philanthropy is not simply about giving money. I see it as a responsibility.

Once we are fortunate enough to take care of our own lives, I believe it is meaningful to also think about people who may not have been given the same opportunities.

“Wealth can bring freedom, but it becomes even more meaningful when it can help create opportunity for someone else.”

Why Philanthropy Matters to Me

Sometimes the difference between possibility and limitation can come down to access — access to education, healthcare, support, information, or simply another chance.

I believe meaningful giving begins with listening, understanding what people truly need, and thinking carefully about how resources can help create dignity, opportunity, and greater independence.

To me, philanthropy is most meaningful when it respects the people it is intended to serve and focuses not only on immediate help, but also on the possibility of lasting change.

Creating Opportunity

01

Education

Education can expand what a person believes is possible for their future. Knowledge, mentorship, and access to learning can create opportunities that continue far beyond a single moment of support.

02

Health

Good health affects nearly every part of life. Access to care, support, and essential resources can give people a stronger foundation from which to build their future.

03

Opportunity

Talent and potential exist everywhere, but opportunity does not. I believe meaningful support can help people gain access to choices they may not otherwise have had.

04

New Beginnings

Everyone can face moments when life changes unexpectedly. Sometimes what matters most is having the support, resources, or chance to begin again.

05

Community

Strong communities are built when people are willing to care about more than their own individual lives. I believe shared responsibility can create greater stability, dignity, and connection.

06

Long-Term Impact

The most meaningful support is not always the most immediate. I am drawn to thinking about how resources can create lasting opportunity rather than only temporary relief.

More Than Generosity

I believe generosity matters, but responsibility goes further.

Responsibility means thinking carefully about what people truly need, respecting their dignity, and recognizing that helping someone should not be about making ourselves feel important.

At its best, philanthropy can help people gain greater independence, opportunity, and the ability to make meaningful choices for their own lives.

Creating Lasting Value

I tend to think about philanthropy in the same long-term way that I think about many other areas of life: what can create lasting value?

A single act of support can matter greatly, but lasting impact often comes from helping create stronger foundations — education, health, opportunity, confidence, and the ability to move forward independently.

To me, success is more meaningful when it gives us not only greater freedom in our own lives, but also greater capacity to care for others.
