A Personal Perspective

I grew up in Hong Kong and later moved to the United States. Today, I live in the Greater Los Angeles area, carrying with me the perspectives shaped by different cultures, communities, and experiences.

I have always been curious about how people make decisions, how the world changes, and how the choices we make today can shape the opportunities we have tomorrow.

I currently serve as a Philanthropic Grants Program Officer at Capital Group, where my professional work reflects my broader interest in thoughtful giving and meaningful impact.

Interests With Purpose

Investment

For me, investing is about choosing the future. I enjoy observing what is happening in the world, thinking about what may become more important over the next five or ten years, and allocating capital toward areas I genuinely believe in. What attracts me most is not simply the result, but the judgment, patience, and long-term thinking behind the process.

Travel

I see travel as a way to understand the world and also to understand ourselves. Reading about a place is very different from standing there, experiencing everyday life, and seeing the world through another culture's perspective. The more I travel, the more I appreciate how important it is to respect different ways of living.

Philanthropy

To me, philanthropy is more than giving money; it is a responsibility. When we have the ability to care for our own lives, I believe there is meaning in also caring about people who may not have had the same opportunities. Wealth can create freedom, but it can also help create access to education, health, and new beginnings.

Personal Growth

I believe growth comes from remaining curious, reflecting on our choices, learning from experience, and being willing to change. Success matters to me, but so does understanding why we pursue it and what kind of life we hope to build along the way.

What I Value Most

Kindness
Integrity
Responsibility
Freedom

Kindness shapes how we treat others. Integrity determines whether people can trust us. Responsibility reminds us to care for our families, our commitments, and the choices we make. Freedom gives us the ability to live according to what we genuinely believe in.

I work hard, invest, and travel, but ultimately I am not pursuing numbers for their own sake. I am pursuing the freedom to choose how I live, the ability to care for the people who matter to me, and the capacity to help when someone is in need.

The Person I Hope to Be

I hope people see me as someone who is genuine, kind, responsible, and curious about life. I am ambitious and I want to succeed, but I do not want success to be defined only by money or accomplishments.

I care deeply about the people in my life, and when I am in a position to help someone, I want to do so. I am certainly not perfect, but at the end of the day, I hope to be remembered as someone people could trust, respect, and feel genuinely cared for by.
